I have had three entirely different encounters now where I had total party wipe-outs with no chance. It turned out to still be ridiculous even with scaling off. I tried it with scaling and had to eventually go back 30 hours of play and start it over without scaling. A party using war bows, hobbles/disables, chill fog/slicken, etc while slowly running backward along the long and narrow hallways and rooms you've already cleared can work really well there.Īnother thing you might try is to aggro the constructs with one guy, get them to group up somehow (maybe Binding Web/CC to help), and run past the exploding constructs quickly - as soon as they engage, even for an instant, they start casting their self destruct, which will hurt/kill everything around them. Do remember that kiting is really effective in Galvinos place since a lot of the constructs are really slow, especially the explodey ones. If you want to continue with the DLC now, though, you might have to cheese it or make sacrifices lol. Also, I think doing most of Act 3 before the White March is probably better from a difficulty curve perspective, since otherwise Act 3 gets too easy after the White March. But I was a lower level so I didnt scale iirc.ĭon't feel pressured to do the White March right away, if you leave and come back with an extra level or two after doing more of the main story / a floor or two of the Endless Paths, it will be way more reasonable, especially since you're down a man. I should also add I've done part of this dlc before lol, up to entering the battery. ![]() On the first fight on Galvinos place, Eder goes down in the first 15 seconds, its unreal.Įdit: I should mention I am playing with a party of 5 as of now bc I left two spaces open for Zahua and the devil since it didnt feel right to bring a companion all the way to stalwart only to ditch them. I dont like that every enemy has 5000000 endurance and 100 deflection lmao. Is this a common experience? Honestly I like POTD bc of the higher number of enemies that are tougher without being bs or unfair. So anyway, Im wondering if I should go back and not select high level scaling, because Im worried everything will be too easy then. I have to resort to last line of defense stuff like summoning tons of minions and using my absolutely highest level spells just for regular encounters, not bosses or anything, I literally have to rest after each room in Galvinos house. The enemies deal way too much damage and are way too resistant. The white march tho, its just ridiculous. I can identify a problem, (with roderic it was lack of cc and support spells) and work to solve it. There were some challenging parts here and there such as Roedric or whatever his name was, but I persevered through sheer stubbornes and trial and error. So, Im playing on POTD, my party is level 9, about to be 10 when starting the dlc.
